Contemporary Brisbane artist Kylie Farrelly uses a bold, colourful palette. She applies paint in layers of pure colour often using colours which have little resemblance to the real structure. Although the images are not always realistic they are easily recognisable.

Working mainly in acrylic, Farrell also incorporates a variety of media to enhance the textural outcome of her work. Her aerial compositions challenge the way we see the world around us and create a fun sense of depth and perspective within her work.

Farrelly’s collection of works features iconic places and views. Bright quirky and yet strangely familiar, the paintings take the viewer on a visual journey in, under and above Brisbane and its surrounds. She is well known for challenging the viewer’s point of reference, especially with her aerial cityscapes.

A featured artist in the publication “Amazing Australian Artists” (available in galleries internationally) and Artist Palette Magazine, Farrelly has also been filmed for Colour in Your Life television series. She regularly donates her paintings to worthy charities including Butterfly babies, Ronald McDonald house, Felicity’s Wish and the Cancer Council to help raise much-needed funds.

Farrelly’s artworks are held in collections both Australia wide and internationally and are eagerly being sought by investors.
