Born 1959, much of Chris Postle’s childhood was spent in the country in both Central and South East Queensland where he became fascinated with the wildlife he encountered and the environment around him. A professional artist for more than 28 years he comes from a highly talented family - his brother Greg is one of the world’s foremost wildlife artists.

Inspired by the ocean and its inhabitants as well as the rainforests and local wildlife, Postle’s beautiful paintings portray light and life in colourful impressions of our stunning surroundings. His abstract seascapes depict the colour and translucency of the water whilst his strong and confident brushstrokes capture its majesty and power.

Recognised internationally, Postle was commissioned to paint original artworks in 2017 & 2018 for two original 80-metre super yachts, the first being built in the Netherlands and the second in Freemantle. Inspired daily with new ideas, colours and subjects directly from our natural environment, Postle’s artworks are constantly evolving. Diverse technical skills and a lifetime of creative practices have seen his works range from seascapes and landscapes through to figurative and portraiture and thus he is keenly sought after as a tutor in acrylics and oils, particularly by regional art galleries and societies. Exhibiting widely, his works are held in collections both national and international.

My art has become my life, a gift for which I am extremely grateful. I hope to continue and explore this positive journey wherever it leads me and also to help create awareness of this amazing world we live in. Where would we be without it?
