Yosi Messiah was born in Israel in 1964 and migrated to Australia in 1987. As a child Messiah wanted to become an animator and spent much of his childhood drawing cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse. In Australia whilst owning a successful jewellery business his creative curiosity led him to study painting at Charlie Sheds School and in 1997 life drawing at the renowned Julian Ashton Art School. Messiah has been a practising artist ever since.

Known as a successful abstract painter, in 2010 he began exploring the figurative style of painting, inspired by pop culture and play station imagery. Messiahs work is characterized by a love of intricate line detail and a bold and exuberant colour palette. It's a clash of quirky pop culture creatures where robots and super heroes leap and intermingle with 21st century heroes and heroines. Layers of warm desert colours mixed with cool ocean blues and a graphic drawing style have created societys maze - Messiah's way of building the layers of society The cocktail that we are living in.

Messiah is represented by galleries throughout Australia and has exhibited overseas. His paintings are held in numerous corporate and private collections both nationally and internationally and his reputation overseas is rapidly growing particularly in Japan Berlin and London
