‘Wool Shed’ depicts the sheer hard work and gruelling heat in a dry and arid outback environment. A seldom-used or disused shearing shed, rickety platform and stairs, broken-down fence in the foreground are all conveyed in images which pay tribute to an industry once the backbone of this changing country. Sheep by the thousands are run through the weather-washed shearing sheds to be greeted by the hands of shearers, soaked with lanolin.
