Yosi Messiah

Yosi Messiah was born in Israel and migrated to Australia in 1987. As a child, Messiah wanted to become an animator and spent much of his childhood drawing cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse. In Australia, whilst owning a successful jewellery business, Messiah's creative curiosity led him to study painting at Charlie Shed's School and in 1997 life drawing at the renowned Julian Ashton Art School and he has been a practising artist ever since.

Known as a successful abstract painter, his work is characterized by a love of intricate line detail, a bold and exuberant colour palette, a vibrant collection of characters and a maelstrom of emotions. Fast and free, his bold colour combinations are an exciting visual pastiche. His technique of laying down colour and intricate line work in sections gives a unique sense of depth and movement to his work, bringing the paintings to life.

Layers of warm desert colours mixed with cool ocean blues and a graphic drawing style have created "society’s maze" - Messiah's way of building the layers of society

Messiah is represented by galleries throughout Australia and has exhibited overseas. His paintings are held in numerous corporate and private collections both nationally and internationally particularly Japan, Berlin & London.
