Alex Stevenson

Biography

As an artist deeply inspired by the Australian landscape, specifically
the local region on the Sunshine Coast, Alex’s work has a unique perspective that aims to convey the profound emotions and experiences of being immersed in these environments. His artwork captures and explores the relationship between the experience and the landscape. In his formative years, he was sculpted through his introduction to the great impressionists and his enjoyment of nature. Ever since those years he has seen the world through the lens of an artist. Moments of light, the interaction between objects, and the phenomena of the natural world all sparked a creative drive within Alex, which led him to pursue Art as a career through the Queensland College of Art. From here he has developed and continues to grow his art career recreating feelings of awe, wonder, and enthusiasm for others. For the last decade, Kondalilla National Park and Obi Obi Creek has captured his attention and nurtured a sense of adventure within.
