One of a gem of a pair of small Doyle paintings beautifully and deftly portrayed with his signature execution of shading, tonality and texture, bringing the landscape to life. Doyle was renowned for his ability to capture light and movement in the landscape – the aged ghost gyms juxtaposing both mottled and smooth bark and granular surfaces, baked summer grasses and early farm buildings in dry and dusty surroundings.
